Sal & Pepper

Scene One

- Mine is longer, said Pepper pulling forward a strand of hair.
- Not true, mine it is, replied Sal showing the ends of his reddish hair peeking from between the fingers.
- Yours only looks longer, but it's not, insisted Pepper.
- If it looks longer, then it is, said Sal stretching his hand even further...

Scene Two

The next day, when Pepper went to Sal's house, she found him sitting on the stairs, his face soaked in tears. She felt her heart sinking and hurried by his side.
- What happened, Sal? What's wrong? she asked gently.
With a big effort, he answered...

Scene Three

Holding Sal's hand tightly, Pepper was thinking with intense focus about what could be done, when she suddenly had an idea. Face all lit up, she jumped on her feet and exclaimed:
- I know! I found it! I know what to do!
Sal looked at her with a sweet, yet very sad smile.

Scene Four

The big day was here, the day when they'll be saying goodbye to their childhood long hair. And yet there was no feeling of regret, it was all a new exciting adventure they'll be having together. While sitting in the high chairs at the salon, Sal and Pepper felt lighthearted, laughing about the buns...

Scene Five

The following day was warm and calm, with a gentle breeze that whispered the leaves into a brushing song. Sal and Pepper were walking towards the ice-cream truck stopped a few meters away from their houses.
- Mine is shorter, said Pepper, skipping with her small feet.
- Not true, mine is shorter, replied Sal, holding her hand...
